Action:
1) Open the 'Device Manager' and select the 'View devices by type' radio button.

2) Double-click on 'CDROM' in the 'View devices by type' list box. (The branch expands showing all installed CD-ROM drives.)
3) Double-click on the appropriate CD-ROM. (The CD-ROM 'Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Click the 'General' tab and view the 'Device status' area to determine what device is conflicting with the CD-ROM drive controller and which resource value is in conflict.
5) Click 'OK' to close the CD-ROM 'Properties' dialog box.
6) Double-click on the device conflicting with the CD-ROM drive in the 'View devices by type' list box. (The branch expands showing all installed devices.)
7) Double-click on the device conflicting with the CD-ROM drive. (The device 'Properties' dialog box appears.)
8) Click on the 'Resources' tab and if the 'Use automatic settings' check box is selected, clear it.
9) Select the resource in the 'Resource settings' list box and click 'Change Setting...'.
NOTE: If the 'No Modifications Allowed' message box appears, this resource cannot be changed.

10) Select a new value from the list of available unassigned resources in the drop-down list box and then click 'OK'.
NOTE: If the device is not plug-and-play, you will have to set the resources using hardware jumpers before the resource value can be changed.
11) Restart Windows 95, when prompted to for the changes to take effect.
12) View the file list for a CD-ROM.
